MJ Cronin said Superb Book Well worth the time and Money. As a mechanical engineer with nearly Superb Book Well worth the time and Money As a mechanical engineer with nearly 30 years of process equipment experience, I find this book invaluable for the design, specification and operation of storage facilities.Meyers has a well organized, informative text with an easy to find index. The book is particularly useful where the pros and cons of design alternatives are compared. I have seen heated discussions resoved based on Meyer's recommendations. As anyone who has delt with tank design over the past several years can tell you, design practices, recollections and anecdotes, combined with the occasional company guideline were the only reference. 0 years of process equipment experience, I find this book invaluable for the design, specification and operation of storage facilities.Meyers has a well organized, informative text with an easy to find index. Very very good Dimitri H. Polanski As a mechanical engineer designing refineries, I needed suffiecient information on tanks that was unknown to me, and this book had it all.It covers all aspects, from the most basic elements to the failry complex and detailed aspects. And points you to other references if more detailed information is required.Aside from a few errors, typos, etc. it is overall an excellent book that I would recommend to any engineer working with Tanks.. 4 stars A Customer We had a copy from the british library. It was so useful we decided to buy one despite the price.
The one reference devoted exclusively to aboveground storage tanks (ASTs), this book helps owners and regulators understand the design, operation, and maintenance of ASTs in the face of new industry regulations and meet the rigorous compliance requirements. Here is an ideal handbook for chemical, environmental, and civil engineers, and others concerned with the regulatory issues of ASTs. Sections examine various types of storage media and their applications; fundamental environmental engineering concerns; how to select the right industrial codes and standards for the tank; design considerations for ASTs; the construction, fabrication, and erection of tanks; and the requirements designed to keep ASTs environmentally sound.
Philip Myers, P.E., is a senior engineer at Chevron Research and Technology, where he maintains a leading, competitive edge in the development, application, and upkeep of aboveground storage tanks. . The author of Above Ground Storage Tanks (also from McGraw-Hill) and many technical articles, he is on the American Petroleum Institute's subcommittee on tanks and pressure vessels
That where Aboveground Storage Tanks comes in. The result is an ideal tool for chemical, environmental, and civil engineers, as well as management and government personnel and others concerned with the regulatory issues governing ASTs. Section by section, this complete reference thoroughly examines and clarifies: Various types of storage media and their applications; Fundamental environmental engineering concerns; Industrial codes and standards for ASTs; AST design considerations; The proper construction, fabrication, and erection of tanks; The often-confusing requirements designed to keep ASTs environmentally sound. . Since that time, new industry regulations on the federal, state, and local levels requiring com
