Very well done (or perhaps rare . A delicious food-focused anthology! All You Can Eat: A Buffet of Lesbian Erotica and Romance, edited by Andi Marquette and R.G. Emanuelle, is an anthology that combines food-focused short stories with a recipe. It's like it was written just for me! Some recipes are literal, like the curried chicken fried steak I made using Karis Walsh's recipe from the book. Others are metaphorical and just for fun. It makes for a diverse selection of readings that's perfect for anyone just discovering lesbian romance. I'm just going to highlight a couple of my favorite stories, but the whole anthology is really well done.The first story in the book by Ashley Bart. "This buffet of stories more than hits the spot" according to Jeanne D. I bought this book after I read that the anthology is a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award. I honestly didn't expect an anthology of food and romance/erotica to keep my attention how many stories can creatively combine food and romance? Turns out, all of the stories in this collection. After a few tentative nibbles, I was hooked.The title is incredibly apt: the stories in the collection range in heat level from sweet to incredibly spicy. These stories of romance and erotica present an appealing menu that will satisfy a range appetites--various representations of FF dynamics/racial/ethnic diversity/age diversit
The menu includes dishes by Ashley Bartlett, Historia, Jae, Rebekah Weatherspoon, Cheyenne Blue, Karis Walsh, Victoria Oldham, Cheri Crystal, Andi Marquette, Jove Belle, R.G. After all, food serves as more than sustenance—it’s a trigger for love, laughter, sex, pleasure, and carnal and sensory satisfaction. Some of these require cooking implements while others are whimsical accompaniments that don’t require cooking at all—at least not in the traditional sense. Whatever your palate prefers, you’re sure to find something tasty here. Each story also ends with a recipe. Chef R.G. Emanuelle, Sacchi Green, and Yvonne Heidt.. Emanuelle and sous chef Andi Marquette locked themselves in the kitchen to create a menu that would explore the sensuous qualities of food and illustrate how the act of preparing and eating it can engage many more senses than simply taste and smell. They gathered a great group of cooks who put together an array of dishes, and they present to you here a menu that ranges from sweet and romantic to sultry and seductive, from relationships enjoying a first taste to those that have moved beyond the entrée
