Exact Constraint: Machine Design Using Kinematic Processing Excellent book with lots of great insights This book was offered me to read by a colleague, senior mechanical engineer. It was a very good read for me, an optical engineer, to understand the design mentality of mechanical persons. The book is well written, sometimes witty (I laughed hard reading some existential questions;-) and every chapter covers not only the topic but gives a lot of insight of what to do in certain circumstances. There is not a lot of maths involved (I loved them), but they wou

DESCRIPTION:

The book is supplemented with many hardware examples, which allow you to: acquire a greatly enhanced understanding of how machines work, improve your ability to create innovative machines, and maximize your ability to analyze and understand complex machinery.. You get a unique and powerful set of rules and techniques to facilitate the design of any machine-of every type and size. The comprehensive treatment allows you to explore the venerable but somewhat obscure principles of kinematic design (widely practiced in the design of precision instruments for well over 100 years). Understanding these principles, collectively called exact constraint design principles, can lead

Excellent book with lots of great insights This book was offered me to read by a colleague, senior mechanical engineer. It was a very good read for me, an optical engineer, to understand the design mentality of mechanical persons. The book is well written, sometimes witty (I laughed hard reading some existential questions;-) and every chapter covers not only the topic but gives a lot of insight of what to do in certain circumstances. There is not a lot of maths involved (I loved them), but they would be unnecessary here : the goal of the book is really to give perspective, and maths would be too specific to be any useful..
