DESCRIPTION:
"Great Book - Watch the outside vendors" according to L. Naeve. The book is a great source of photos of the vocabulary of Greene and Greene. The only reservation I had with this purchase is that the vendor had a price written in the book that was significantly less than the price Amazon and/or the outside vendor charged.. "Good details about the Gamble house." according to G. Cromeans. The book provides good details on the house and a little bit about the furniture. I wish it had more color pictures and more about the furniture.. a nice reference on Craftsman style Roberta The images remind me of my visit to this place. It's a beautiful house with many thoughtful and surprising features. I bought this as a gift got someone who is building a craftsman-style house, as a style reference. I wish it had more images and larger, more color, images, but it's a good reference.

Edward R Bosley is Director of the Gamble House. He is also the author of the definitive monograph Greene and Greene, also published by Phaidon. He holds a degree in the History of Art from the University of California at Berkeley, where he studied the work of the Greene brothers first-hand, living for several years in one of their classic, high-period commissions, the W R Thorsen House (1909), a former private residence which now houses students.
