DESCRIPTION:
But when Obie’s smiling at him, anything seems possible.. Having MS—and trying to pretend he doesn’t—makes everything more complicated, especially his fantasies of coming on strong and holding a guy down. It would be perfect, except for one thing: Emerson isn’t made for happiness, and he doesn’t see how a guy like Obie would settle for a cynic like him. Can Emerson handle a boyfriend who’s more invested in his future than he is? Emerson’s barely convinced he has a future. Finding a partner who’ll explore that with him isn’t Emerson’s idea of a realistic goal. Emerson Robinette only leaves his apartment to get laid and go to work. But as far as Obie’s concerned, the only thing keeping them apart is Emerson. Obie is happy, open hearted, and warm; what’s more, he gets his kicks being physically dominated, spanked, and teased until he’s begging. Until a chance meeting with a hipster on a bus makes him reconsider
4.5*. Needed to show a little glimpse of Obie and Emerson's future and HEA to make this a perfect read. Roroblu'sMum I read the blurb of this book, looked away, went back, looked away and did this a few more times before deciding that yes, I'd like to try it, despite my (erroneous, as it turns out) assumptions re the tale and Emerson 'Chip On His Shoulder' Robinette. I am so glad that I did, because I'd have missed out on a nice little tale. There's barely any sex in this, despite what the blurb implies, but there is a tale, one that made me think of what living with a progressive illness like MS must be like, where despite what you do, your body could fail you in so many ways, without warning. It made me grateful for what I had. It al. "Great start for a new series" according to Mummy. Emerson has MS. He hates it and tries his best to ignore and deny it. Erecting barriers is one way that helps him manage this illness because it keeps people away from him and if people stay away from him then they wont ask questions that he doesn't want to answer. This isn't what Emerson really wants. Emerson wants to be that big strong guy who does things to other guys. He wants to explore his interest in BDSM. He wants to hold a guy down but how can he hold some one down if he isn't sure he can hold himself up . How can he be that guy when he needs to walk with a cane sometimes, or when he is in pain or loses his bala. Emerson isn’t particularly happy. Emerson meets Obie It's About The Book Emerson Robinette wants to be a Dom. He’s got MS. MS doesn’t care what Emerson wants for his own life. MS is going to do what it’s going to do to Emerson’s body. Emerson wants to be in control of others at the same time he has no control over his own body. Unsurprisingly, Emerson isn’t particularly happy. Emerson meets Obie. Obie is everything Emerson isn’t. What could Obie possibly see in Emerson? Emerson is not only physically incapable of completing certain tasks, he’s depressed and grouchy. Seriously, what could Obie want from Emerson? Come to think of it, several of Emerson
