"A very good book" according to Marc Grenier. This book was as well researched and written and enjoyable to read. This book is on par with the author's other books in my opinion.. "Excellent book on railroading" according to SlapF16. The book is daunting at first glance at nearly 500 pages, but it is a fantastic read. Board room struggles, engineering feats, capitalism at its finest - it was the L&N and it is captured in this book. I truly enjoyed it
