DESCRIPTION:

Marina and Small Craft Harbours This is an excellent global overview of everything concerned with modern marina development. It covers subjects from a socio-economics of marina users, historical development of recreational boats and harbours to financial data on building and running a modern marina. Attention is paid to regulatory requirement and environmental considerations including mitigation of wave impact, fuel and sewage facilities to the merits of different break-wave and mooring structures. Modern trends such as the increasing length of boats to dry storage facilitie. The Textbook on Marina This the the definitve textbook on Marinas. The 2nd Edition is full of information and is a must read for any marina designer.Marinadesigner.com is the source for muck of the information.. Great reference BUT its not the most current edition RIslander This is a great reference for marina owners, operators and designers. Just be aware that this is a reprint of the first edition (1991) not the second edition (2000). There is a lot of similarities between the two editions however the second edition has more information/specifications on planning for mega yachts. Why they did not reprint the second edition is beyond me. Would be nice if the publisher could find a contributor to help them prepare a 3rd edition to further update what they have since boats don't seem to be getting smaller or more
