A Roy McMakin chair is never JUST a chair Roy McMakin is artist whose medium is furniture, architecture, interiors, and photography. He riffs on common objects and forms like a poet playing with words. At first glance a chair or dresser might appear commonplace, but then you notice something unexpected - the chair legs are slightly off kilter, or the dresser seems to be missing a knob. The longer you look, t. "love his art, not so much the book" according to Liz. I'm a fan of Roy McMakin, and this book was slightly disappointing to me. Just a bit sparse nice, full-color photos, but not what I had in mind for an art book.
