"Poorly edited, but all-encompassing intro to the telecom world" according to Tobias. The book is poorly edited, you can clearly see its multiple authors and lots of repetitions, sometimes contradicting itself. Still, though, for someone new to the telecom world and wanting an all-encompassing introduction, it is not a bad read. It helped me understand the infrastructure and overall concepts, explaining a lot of the jargon at least such that you can get a better idea of how everything evolved and relates to each other.. Not bad, but not as good as the great Telecommunications and Data Communications Handbook.Harte's book is a good, all around simple primer on telecom; but T&DCH is much more thorough and complete a text on everything telecom.
