Great overview of medical massage conditions & techniques This is my favorite book in the Ariana Institute series that I have read to date. In this book Ariana delves into topics such as: headache & allergy relief, lymphatic massage, HIV/AIDS info for massage therapists, pain management, pre- & post-natal massage, and geriatric massage.As Art Riggs wrote in the forward: "Rather than demonstrating rigid protocolsAriana goes into great depth in giving an understanding of a wide range of conditions and a multitude of techniques for your toolbox". Anna B. said I wish I had this book in MT school!. Surprisingly, this medical massage therapy book is my favorite out of all the books I have ordered and read by Ariana Vincent. The overview of craniosacral movement, along with the manual lymphatic drainage, the review on lymph glands, and the reflexology and acupressure for the face were most informational. There is an excellent chapter on HIV/AIDS, pain management, along with the special populations of prenatal and geriatric client work that is necessary for all massage therapists to know.
