DESCRIPTION:
"Contains more lengthy mathematical derivations than most {comparable books … for arrays, provides for a unique, stand-alone mathematical description that can be adopted by anyone trying to communicate the theoretical foundation for their array design…has insights from a practitioner that are unique. However, to achieve a truly insightful and in-depth analysis of subarray architectures, conformal arrays, etc., it is imperative that users first develop a firm grasp of ESA fundamentals.Covers largely unexplored topics, such as reliability aspects and the application of ESAs in spaceThis volume helps readers build that elemental understanding of how ESAs work. D, Northrop Grumman Corporation Electronically Scanned Arrays: MATLAB® Modeling and Simulation is considered the first book to provide comprehensive modeling/simulation programs used to design and analyze Electronically Scanned Arrays (ESA), a key technology internationally in the scientific and engineering communities. The book expands on ESA principles and provides a modeling framework, usin
He currently works in the System Engineering Integration & Test Division as a Senior Advisory Systems Architect.. While at Northrop he has been involved in radiator design, array pattern synthesis, system level analysis of antenna architectures and system architecture design. Arik was a member of the University of Michigan's Radiation Laboratory in the Computational Electromagnetics Laboratory working with Dr. Volakis who is the current director of the Ohio State University ElectroScience Laboratory. He also received his MS and Ph.D from the University of Michigan in Electrical Engineering in 1995 and 2000 respectively. Arik joined Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems in 2000. Arik also teaches an Introductory Electronically Steered Array class for potential and existing customers. Arik has been a Northrop Grumman Presidential Leadership Award recipient twice, has multiple technical publications, and has recei
"Not worth the money" according to LARS SUNDSTRÖM. Out of the roughly 200 pages there are some 90 pages with only MATLAB code. The MATLAB code can be downloaded from CRC Perss but you nevertheless end with a book of only some 100 pages worth of text and figures.. naa said Unreadable. Most derivations of formulas have hardly any justification or proof. Many variables and parameters are not defined at all, leaving the reader guessing. The most frustrating feature though is the number of typos, which many times make thetext and the formulas nonsensical. The book creates the impression of very poor editing standards. The book was probably put together hastily. The user could derive some benefits from the Matlab code, but it contains errors too.The author's preface states " this book is intended to serve as both a tex. This is an excellent book for RF system analysts The book shows analysis of the important technical aspects of Electrically Scanned Arrays at the Matlab Code level. All of the Matlab code is included in the text of the book, from which it can be readily scanned into operating code.Or, I suspect the editor could supply the code on a CD or some other convenient means. The authors of the book are highly skilled and experienced in this field.
