Excellent addition to Ms. Scott's Heroes series. Marcine Last Marine Standing is Book 2 in RJ Scott's Heroes series that is a spin-off of her Sanctuary series.It is a well written tale. Ms. Scott picks up the threads of A Reason To Stay [Heroes 1] secondary character Sam Larson by introducing the reader to his backstory as well as his present interactions with the main characters in Book 1. Next she creates an amazing link between the past and the present with the simple idea of expressing gratitude to Sam's saviors.Once Sam has set his course, we the readers are along for the oh so bumpy ride to a well deserved. It wasn't that A Reason to Stay wasn't well - written, anytime you pick up an RJ Scott book, you know you're getting quality product. However, with the first book in this series, I didn't feel that HB1 really carved out it's own identity. It just seemed too much like the Sanctuary series for me to see it on its own merit. As a huge fan for Rj Scott's I knew I'd enjoy this as I did with the first in this series. We get to revisit a little bit with Viktor and Aiden, along with Spider. Loved everything about this storythe whole thing was so well written. Mac and Sam are amazingly strong, stubborn and perfect for each other. If you have read A Reason To Stay, the first in this series, do yourself a huge favor and but this one. You will NOT be disappointed!
