Previous to reading this book, I had read journal articles and the occasional book article on this topic, but this was the first time I had seen such a comprehensive and detailed discussion of very specific issues related to LGBT-parent families located in one central source. I'm a family studies professor who used this book for an independent study with an undergraduate student. Both the student and I . "A much-needed resource" according to Brad van Eeden-Moorefield. This is a much-needed text that pulls together the wealth of information we have about LGBT-parent families from the past couple of decades. It is particularly impressive how the text highlights the diversity of these families, and challenges a lot of false information and stereotypes. The connections between research, methodology, and practice will make this a go-to text for students, professionals, policy-makers, and practitioners for years to come.
