Prince was born in 1920 and was raised in Norfolk, Virginia. He attended Georgia School of Technology in Atlanta, graduating in 1942 with a B.S. Prince retired in 1983, and lives in Omaha, Nebraska. His ten books on railroads have sold over 20,000 copies. In 1969 he transferred to the Omaha Mechanical Engineering Department of the UPRR.

Prepared with love. Clarke Dunham I've recently been researching the Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railroad for a design project I'm working on. Of the several "stand out" books I've found on the subject what is the most impressive is the amount of affection displayed by the authors---as if recalling a departed member of the family. In addition to that, the good Mr. Prince knows what he's talking about. Even if you know nothing about the N.C.& StL Railroad, you'll enjoy this book . "NCSTL History and Steam Loco review" according to Thomas L. Howard. Awesome book, makes for great reading and modeling the NCSTL.
