But soon the men realize the suspicion falls on them, but not for homicide…for something that is perceived as a worse crime. The two men hope like hell, it’s not going to be them. When Sheriff Sky Hayden gets word of human remains behind the Indigo Diamond Ranch, he not only has to deal with the possibility of a murderer in their small town, but is haunted by a handsome cowboy. Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy was just a silly expression to sell on souvenir T-shirts. Until the sheriff figures out ‘riding a cowboy’ may be just what he needs to keep sane. The downturn in the economy, the businesses leaving, has decimated the remaining town’s folk and the last thing they need for their livelihood is the publicity of a murder. Someone is going to get strung up in that town for crimes they didn’t commit. One he can’t seem to get out of his mind. As the pressure builds and accusations are made, Sky and Cole end up together once more, forming a united front against outsiders trying to destroy their small hometown. Good Read Love the storyline I just hated that I got pulled into the book and finished it at Good Read MB Love the storyline I just hated that I got pulled into the book and finished it at 4am when I had to be up at 7:30am. Liked how it brought in the struggle between local and state agencies and how some people look at them. Was sort of surprised by the possiblity of the female on male domestic violence in the story people forget that men can be victims. Would love to read a book that had an update on Sky and Cole.I kind of wished Rocky found somebody though.. am when I had to be up at 7:30am. There is so much wrong with this book that it's hard to know where to start, so perhaps we should start with the advice "write what you know" It is obvious there was no research before writing. Small town America does not order beer by pints. Montana has a Highway Patrol, not State Police and as such, the murder investigation would not have been handed over to the Highway Patrol. Nor would the State Police rolled into town and acted so heavy handed. Law Enforcement Officers of all stripes do not get to interrogate possible suspects one-on-one,. The Sheriff gets his man. I have always loved this authors' work so I am not surprised that this book was so well done. The relationship between Sky and Cole was difficult. Difficult because their journey to each other was guided by homophobia. Sky was so afraid of loving Cole because he feared losing his job as well as his life. At first I was angry at the way both men were treated by those who loved them, but as with true life you learn that everything is not what it first appears to be. These guys had support and eventually found their way to each other. Their path
