Alexandra Lier probably isn't the most natural person to write and produce one of the best books around on the world and people of hotrodding, but her credentials are pretty good. From Hamburg, Germany, the visual appeal must have been there, and she started coming to the Hot Rod Reunions, Bonneville and other events, meeting people and making herself known for many years before Speedseekers was to be published. The visuals are rough-edged and a bit gritty, which is the way this sport should be shown. This is not a polite Amy Vanderbelt world, and she carries it off very well in this. "I LOVE IT!" according to Jens Mollenhauer. Finally a book that shows the whole world of "the real speedseekers" - Structured in history, garage, speed, landspeed, style and sound. It covers a vast range of car motorsports, yet each section is done well and quite a complete overview. Very impressed. Will be watching out for more books by this author.
