DESCRIPTION:

With laughter and tears, joy and heartbreak, this book lets you know her spirit is still here.. 19, 2009, her memory and inspiration live on. It's for people whose lives have been touched by cancer, for people whose own faith has wavered, for people who want to meet a woman of tremendous beauty, grace and strength. Though Stefanie passed away on Nov. Chris Spielman was a high school and Ohio State football legend and a four-time Pro Bowl linebacker, but he didn't tackle his toughest opponent until his playing career was almost over. In 1998 his wife Stefanie was diagnosed with breast cancer, and so began an 11-year journey that brought joy and suffering to the Spielmans, as well as hope and inspiration to thousands of others. In That's Why I'm Here, Spielman traces his storied career, recalls his courtship of Stefanie Belcher, cherishes the growth of their four children and invokes the deep spiritual faith that gave their family wisdom and comfort in times of struggle. Though there are plenty of on-the-field tales in the book, it's not just for football fans

The best book I've read in a very long time. I had just moved to Columbus, Ohio and was volunteering with Stefanie at the Children's Hospital shortly before she was diagnosed. I had no idea who Chris Spielman was and Stefanie was someone who welcomed me into the area. The thing that was so impacting about this family is how real and genuine they are. Chris and Stefanie always stood firm that their faith, their relationship, their family and their servant's heart kept them going. I've never known another family that was such an example as they were during Stef's illness and continue to be today.I'm not much of a football. but I like Chris Spielman and his beliefs Haven't finished the book yet, but I like Chris Spielman and his beliefs.. WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT For someone who does not love in America and does not know much about the sport talked about in the book this was not great. The book was far more about the husband than the wife yet Stefanie was going through so much. Somewhat disappointed. Not sure if the book answered the question posed in the title well enough.
