DESCRIPTION:

The year-by-year format progresses through day wear, evening wear, sportswear, leisurewear, underwear, negligee and wedding wear. It was perhaps the first "modern" decade of the 20th century. These books are most likely to be used by students researching specific time periods or the origins of current American politics, culture, and economy. Each volume has a comprehensive introduction, an annotated table of contents, a thorough index, and a detailed chronology of events and inventions. The 1900s deals with such topics as immigration, the Wright brothers, Henry Ford, and American imperialism. With its newspaper-style format of one-to-two page articles and copious large photographs, the "Our Century" series (Gareth
