Lipio One of the few books I have seen that actually still deals with beautiful dresses.But this book shows some of the most beautiful updated dresses by International designers. An interesting section on Alexander McQueen and his dresses which are always unique to say the least. In an age where the pants has taken over a lot of women's apparel, it is nice to see that a dress can still be beautiful, sexy, elegant and interesting.. Great history AND photos Linda Carlson, I'm not sure I'd agree that "gingham" was an idea that changed fashion forever, but overall, the 100 ideas described in this fabulously-photographed book are important in fashion history. It's amazing to see how quickly fashion changed in some eras---from the overly structured late 1700s to the Empire periods, for example. I also appreciate the construction details which explain how the "bubble," to name one, was made both in early ye. Gorgeous Purchased as a gift for my 17yo niece who is into fashion design. She loved it, the illustrations are beautiful. Highly recommended.
