(Oct. . As might be expected in the autobiography of a veteran con man with movie rights already sold, it's hard to know how much to believe. Profits were laundered through purchase of legitimate businesses and cash deposits in Swiss banks. There is only brief mention of Belfort's life before Wall Street or events since 1997. From Publishers Weekly Belfort, who founded one of the first and largest chop shop brokerage firms in 1987, was banned from the securities business for life by 1994, and later went to jail for fraud and money-laundering, delivers a memoir that reads like fiction. Pretty good read JB Vick Pretty good read. Lots of good laughs albeit for the wrong reason. Jordan Belfort was a wild man. Book was goodmovie was better. Why? Because Jordan wrote the book and he was really kissing up to his ex wife who left him. Its easy to write about yourself when you control the narrative. After I finsihed the book I learned from the FBI agent that NO ONE ever called him "The Wolf of Wall Street" its was simply a name he gave himself after the fact. Regardless its a fun book to read and had some really funny stories.. "Hard to put down" according to mike. Great book, saw some bad reviews but I liked it a lot. Lot of similarities to the movie as well as some differences. Honestly it was long but wouldn't have minded if it was longer.I think a lot of the conversations had to have been skewed, maybe even made up at some points I doubt he could have remembered such minuscule specific details unless he kept a journal the entire time this was happening. Overall good book tho solid read, interesting even if some if it was a bitch skewed or exaggerated.. One of My Favorites Serious Reviewer I was engaged immediately when I began to read this autobiography. Jordan's perceptions are elaborate and the reader can easily relate to the speaker. The events are described so the reader can visualize the situations and develop an understanding of Jordan's decisions. Some events in the book are explicit or inappropriate, but the plot was intriguing and unique.

He currently lives in Los Angeles with his two children. From the Hardcover edition.. After graduating from American University, Jordan Belfort worked on Wall Street for ten years
