DESCRIPTION:
"A gothic, erotic thriller."The Huffington Post"Szereto’s use of language is faithful to the original, even in the frequent sex scenes. What I really like is that she has taken a classic story and made it hers without harming a word of the original and making the sequel a reading guilty pleasure."Reviews by Amos Lassen"The Wilde Passions of Dorian Gray is first rate escapist reading with lots of interesting plot twists and turns. Ms. Gray’s hedonistic adventures take him from Paris to Marrakesh and beyond as he explores increasingly extreme and inventive debaucheries. In this intensely sensual novel, a hedonistic Dorian Gray is conjured up as never before. I loved it!"Sam Stone (author of The Vampire Gene Series"Adventurous sex, Paris, New Orleans and countless exotic locations plus a dash of the supernatural: how could I not have loved Mitzi Szereto's new novel about the very much alive afterlife of Oscar Wilde's wonderfully dis
Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s classic novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, Mitzi Szereto’s Wilde Passions of Dorian Gray continues where Wilde left off with the Faustian tale of a man of eternal youth and great physical beauty who lives a life of corruption, decadence and hedonism. He ultimately settles in present-day New Orleans, joining with a group of like-minded beings known as The Night People. In his pursuit of sensation and carnal thrills, Dorian’s desires turn increasingly extreme and he leaves behind yet more devastation and death. She will be his redemption, but she will also be his final curse.. The story begins in the bordellos of Jazz-Age Paris, moving to the opium dens of Marrakesh and the alluring anonymity of South America. They inadvertently return to Dorian his humanity when he falls in love with a young woman he rescues from becoming their victim
Contrived Plot Twist Robert Heylmun After reading over 180 pages of unrelenting sexual encounters, murders, and tales of continuous descriptions of erections and ejaculations, we are asked to believe that the self-serving Dorian Gray that Ms Szereto has manufactured suddenly redeems himself by trying to save a girl fortuitously named Angel. Nope, doesn’t work.Let’s go back to Oscar Wilde’s creation for a moment. There we watch the spiral downward of a previously chaste and good man whose portrait allows him to stay young and invulnerable to the. Much Darker Than Her Other Books, But a Great Read One caveat: I never read 'The Picture of Dorian Gray.' I knew the basic plot, perhaps because I did a unit on Oscar Wilde in middle school and read one of his shorter works - I don't remember exactly. Before I started reading this book, I thought it was going to be a mash-up of the original with some of Szereto's original thoughts added in, like her 'Pride and Prejudice: Hidden Lusts.' At first I was a little disappointed, since I really enjoyed that Austen parody. However, as I read on, I was glad to discover it was a wholly . A Read In The Dark Side The Wilde Passions of Dorian Gray is a hard book to recommend, but I think it's one that is easy to at least, if anything, appreciate. The essence of Oscar Wilde and Dorian Gray pops out of the pages. It's dark fiction that dabbles in the paranormal. The story/plot really doesn't go anywhere but down with absolutely no ambition to lift the reader up. But in the fashion of its era, that's the point, and the author and this book does that triumphantly. This book won't be for everyone, but it isn't supposed to either. If you want
