DESCRIPTION:

It is not necessary to specify these in detail, but perhaps I may mention that the new explanation of the transformation-theory of Dynamics in 125 sprang from a desire to do justice to the earliest great work of Hamilton sgenius: that the changes in 69 (the motion of a body about a rixed point under no forces) arose from my opinion that the Jacobian functions are preferable to theW eierstrassian in the numerical computations :and that I should have liked to give a fuller proof of Sundman stheorem (181), but thought it better to give only such an account as might impel the reader to consult Mr Sundman sown accessible and readable memoir. "Classic book in facsimile" according to Barry K. As the other reviewers put it, a classic. Well worth the price! My only comment is this facsimile edition is a scan of the original (not reset). Some of the formulae are small and not as clear as I wish-there is extensive use of the Newtonian notation for derivatives. It is usually ok to read, and context helps with meaning as does a reading glass.. "Book is good the print out is terrible" according to Lindomar Bomfim de Carvalho. I am writing to alert buyers that the quality of the printout is very poor. It seems to be a xerox of the original material and in many parts you can not see what is written. Watch out.Concerning the book itself, it is a classic and need no more words because something is classic due to its content and quality.
