Charlie Blackbear is already a near-legend in his little corner of the world. The size of his package has been the subject of whispers since he was a lad, and his sexual conquests the stuff of legends. It was a good story that kept my interest. Roger F. Hoffman I've read all five of Mark Wildyr's books and I've enjoyed them all. Charlie Blackbear was difficult in the beginning because of the terrible misuse of the English language, but by the end of the second chapter I was used to it and eventually didn't notice it. It was used to emphasize the characters' lack of education. There was a lot of m/m & m/f sex but and it was about American Indian men com. It was a great read and hard to put down This book was different than Cut Hand and the other books in that series. While those books were historical fiction, this book is only a fictional story of a young Native American coming to grips with his sexuality and alcoholism. It was a great read and hard to put down. The main character, Charlie, becomes a very likable character. It would be nice to see a second book continuing this story. T. Sam Tudor said A great read.. In some ways, his most credible long fiction, since it is set in our time, and presumably an easier write for him, since less research was involved to "get it right". So it really flows easily and credibly, and it is hard to put down. Apparently a reader objected since the protagonist is bi, not gay, but I assure you, there are plenty of bi guys out there who can identify with his issues. Will M
