Approachable, doable, and transformative! I'm thrilled that The Kind Self-Healing Book exists--it packages together all of the elements that "self-help" books don't seem to quite get at--insight into the roots of problems I've been struggling with for years (relationship sabotage, anyone?), prompts for journaling, and so much more. I particularly value the section on "needs versus wants" and will revisit it when I feel like I need clarity in my life. As a stoic Yankee, the "feelings and feeling them" chapter required me to grit my teeth and finally learn how to open my hea. on the Outer Banks last July and it's really wonderful!! I picked this book up while vacationing on the Outer Banks last July and it's really wonderful!!! I thought maybe it was the fact I was on the beach and reading so how could there be any negatives? LOL but it's a keeper and I still have it in a basket I keep by my bed, it's really not an annoying self help book but rather something put together really well to help you focus your thoughts and give you some guidance!
