DESCRIPTION:
Rae York said Disappointed and Confused. Perhaps after reading Color Me Beautiful by Jackson I had unfair expectations, however, I feel that Ms. Pooser's work confused a previously workable system. She attempts to improve upon the concepts in the aforementioned work, but in doing so completely undermines the concepts that Color Me Beautiful are based on. What had previously been, to me, simple and effective became unwieldy and complic. Annie_Xmas said The ONLY color me beautiful book I actually use!. After reading the other Color Me Beautiful books and trying to determine my "season," I stumbled across this one at a library book sale. While the others left me in the dark, and even my friends couldn't determine where a very pale, brownish/reddish/blondish with gray/green/blue eyes fit in, this book made me realize I am a Clear Spring. The color patches are very useful, and I've finally realiz. Good in between book C.B. This is the great in between that ties the original Color Me Beautiful and the 'third' book Color Me Beautiful's Looking Your Best. From Publishers Weekly Expanding on Color Me Beautiful, Pooser here extends the seasonal color theory of dressing (depending on their skin tone, women fall into one of four categories named for the seasons: Summers and Winters look best in cool colors, Springs and Autumns should wear warmer shades) to include "flow" colorsrelated shades from all seasonal categories that can be used to accent basic colors. The extensive amount of information, presented in charts and text, may overwhelm readers as they attempt to determine whether their bodies are straight, soft straight, sharp straight, curved or soft curved. But for those bored with each season's allotted hues, and for those who want help in choosing a wardrobe and don't mind spending a lot of time sorting out the data, Pooser's guide is full of sartorial advice. Also included is a detailed examination of clothing styles deemed suitable for various body types. NovemberCopyright 1985 Ree
