From School Library Journal Grade 7-12-- One only needs to read the introduction and an opening chapter of this book to become convinced that the nation is facing a quickly growing adolescent problem. Through credible stories about young gamblers (names changed) and their problems, the authors depict the phenomenon and its impressive growth rate among young males. The book includes a set of questions teens frequently ask (along with their answers), a list of sources and services for more information, and a very detailed index. The authors' notes indicate that all references, except a government document, were printed in the last 10 years. This text is needed in libraries both for reports and for individual guidance. The actual "coping" information begins about two-thirds of the way into the book, and compulsive gamblers may lose interest long before the heavy-handed messages give way to that advice. Friends of those with gambling problems may be more willing to persevere. Tho
