Rejigged for alcoholics who have sober time under their belts Jolly Roger This is a rejigging of the same book for newcomers. In this oldtimers version the discussion about how the twelve steps evolved is close to the front of the book. Otherwise the books contain the same excellent material for atheists and agnostics put off by the god stuff in AA.. "Excellent" according to C. Jay Pees. This book expressed many of the feelings I have had over the years and offers many, many useful suggestions for adapting the Christian slant of AA to a secular recovery. Thanks are due the author. This book can save lives.
About the Author The author is an atheist and member of alcoholics anonymous who has not had a drink for more than 17 years. Hopefully some will be saved who would have perished and many will stop drinking sooner than they would have done otherwise, thus saving themselves and people around them from the harm inflicted by years of further drinking alcoholicly. As a freelance journalist and business analyst, he has applied his mind to outlining ways in which they, too, can adapt the AA program to their beliefs, thus bringing many more people who have a problem with alcohol into the AA fold.
